Dr. Andrei Mateev

Dr Andrei Mateev is a Consultant in Internal Medicine, specialising in Geriatric Medicine with over two decades of experience. He is based in Dubai and currently sees patients at United Medical Center.

He completed his medical degree at the Faculty of Medicine, Geneva University, Switzerland in 1982. After qualifying he moved to Canada and practiced as a Family Physician for 8 years. He later moved back to Switzerland and completed his specialist training in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. He also completed a 2-year training course in Psychogeriatrics at Geneva University Hospital. Dr Mateev was awarded a Medical Doctorate for his research work surrounding functional status assessments in the frail elderly. He later moved to the UAE and became a DHA Licensed Consultant in 2019.

At United Medical Center, Dr Mateev manages cases of both normal and pathological ageing, as well as complex geriatric multimorbid patients. He offers diagnostic and treatment services for dementia and other psychiatric disorders in the elderly.
