About
Professor Amir Nisar is Consultant General Surgeon with over 35 years of experience. He specialises in Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgery and currently practises at Fakeeh University Hospital, Dubai, UAE.
Prof Nisar obtained his medical degree in 1986 from the University of Punjab, Pakistan. In 1993 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, UK. He then completed his Intercollegiate Speciality Exam in General Surgery in 2005 in Edinburgh, UK and was registered as a Specialist in General Surgery by the GMC in 2006.
Prof Nisar teaches and trains surgeons at international level in United Kingdom, Europe and Asia. During his career, he has worked in high volume hospitals and centres providing him with valuable experience in simple and complex surgery, allowing him to be proficient and competent in routine and complex operations.
During his career, he has establshed unites and tertiary referral centres and also taught surgeons, junior doctors and other healthcare professionals, contributing to surgery around the world.
