Dr Alaa Mohammed, a highly experienced consultant  Obstetrician and Gynaecologist currently practicing at Fakeeh University Hospital. With an impressive career spanning over 20 years in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology, including 15 years in the Gulf region, Dr Mohammed brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her patients.

Dr Mohammed has expertise in dealing with low and high-risk pregnancies, caesarean sections, preconception counselling, cervical screening, colposcopy , gynaecological surgeries (abdominal hysterectomy, myomectomy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, ectopic pregnancy), laparoscopic surgery (ovarian cystectomy, oophorectomy, ectopic pregnancy, adhesiolysis), hysteroscopic surgeries (submucous myoma resection, polypectomy, endometrial sampling, diagnostic hysteroscopy), and infertility management.

Dr Mohammed completed her medical degree at Al Mustansiriya University, Iraq in 1994, followed by her specialty training at Baghdad University, where she honed her skills in a tertiary centre with a particular focus on gynaecological oncology. She later became certified by the Arab Board in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and was awarded her Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Baghdad University.

After completing her training, she began working at Al-Qassimi Hospital (MOH), where she dedicated 1 and a half years to serving patients. She later joined Latifa Hospital, where she worked as a senior specialist for 7 years. Dr Mohammed was also appointed to the Faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Dubai College where she contributed her knowledge to the education of future healthcare professionals.

Dr Mohammed later moved to Canada, where she became registered with the Medical Council of Canada before venturing into the field of endocrinology and infertility as a research assistant. She returned back to the Ministry of Health's hospitals in the Gulf region, including Al Dhaid Hospital. Al Dhaid Hospital is affiliated with the University of Sharjah Medical College which provided her with the opportunity to lecture at the university.
