A/Prof Yasmin Jayasinghe

Associate Professor Yasmin Jayasinghe is a highly respected Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecologist with extensive experience in the care of children, adolescents, and young women with complex gynaecological conditions. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland in 1991 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2001. In 2013, she was awarded a PhD from the University of Melbourne, with research focusing on cervical cancer and precancerous disease in young women.

Her clinical expertise encompasses adolescent gynaecological concerns, including menstrual pain, chronic pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, menstrual management for girls with disabilities, and contraceptive counselling. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to the unique needs of young patients and their families.

A/Prof Jayasinghe is the current President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology and serves as a Senior Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Melbourne. A nationally recognised researcher, her work has focused on evaluating the real-world impact of the cervical cancer vaccination program in Australia, alongside earlier research into breast disorders affecting children and young women.
