Dr Vlad Illie

Dr Vlad Illie is a highly qualified Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon based in Bondi Junction, Australia. He is dedicated to providing individualised care, tailoring each surgical procedure to meet the unique characteristics and personal vision of his patients. With a focus on safety, natural results, and meticulous attention to detail, Dr Illie ensures that every patient feels supported and well-informed throughout their surgical journey, from the initial consultation to post-operative recovery.

In his clinical practice, Dr Illie manages a broad spectrum of reconstructive and aesthetic concerns. He has a particular interest in complex microsurgical reconstructions, with a focus on breast and head and neck reconstruction. His expertise also encompasses a wide range of aesthetic facial procedures, breast surgery, body contouring, and skin cancer surgery. Dr Illie is actively involved in multidisciplinary teams, contributing his specialised skills to complex reconstructive cases and collaborating with other medical professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes. He also contributes to the medical community as a Conjoint Associate Lecturer, and has previously served as an Instructor for microsurgical courses, an Anatomy Tutor, and an Anatomy Demonstrator.

Dr Illie completed his medical degree with Honours at university in Romania, before undertaking extensive specialist training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Sydney, Australia. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and holds a Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney, where he received the prestigious John Loewenthal Scholarship. To further refine his skills, Dr Illie completed two international post-fellowship training programmes in Oxford, United Kingdom, and Stuttgart, Germany, focusing on advanced microsurgery, breast reconstruction, and cosmetic and facial surgery. He is an active member of several professional organisations, including the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, and the Romanian Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery.
