Dr Barnouti

Post-weight reduction plastic surgery, known as body contouring, involves a series of procedures to remove excess sagging skin and fat left after weight loss. This is a highly personalized process that can be performed in stages to improve both aesthetic appearance and physical comfort. A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and breast lift (mastopexy) are two plastic surgery procedures often performed together as a "mummy makeover" to address body changes following pregnancy, significant weight loss, or aging. Combining them has the advantage of a single surgical session and recovery period. Dr Barnouti has huge experience with body and breast plastic surgery.

Facelift surgery sydney Dr Barnouti

Dr Laith Barnouti is based in Sydney Glebe and Chatswood. Call us on 02-9561 0222. What will happen during my face and neck lift consultation? Face Lift Types There are four types of facelift so if you're not sure which is right for you that can be discussed during your face lift consultation. The four types of face lift are: Mini face lift -- Sometimes called a Hollywood facelift this involves a small incision in the hairline only. Recovery time is two to five days and the resulting scar will be hidden above the hairline. Short Scar face lift - Also known as an S lift or MACS lift. The incision is made at the junction of the ear and the side of the cheek but finishes at the earlobe and does not extend behind the ear. The recovery time is five to eight days and there will be no scar behind the ear. Full face lift -- Also known as an SMAS face and neck lift. The incision is at the junction of the ear and cheek and behind the ear creating what is known as an omega scar. This is a longer and more expensive procedure with a recovery time of eight to fourteen days. Total facial rejuvenation -- This includes a face lift, neck lift, fat transfer, brow lift, skin resurfacing, lower blepharoplasty, and upper blepharoplasty. What happens during face or face and neck lift surgery plastic surgery? A face lift can be performed under general anaesthetic or local anaesthetic and takes Between 90 minutes and six hours depend on the extent of the face lift, rejuvenation or contouring procedure. With most face lifts after making the incision the surgeon separates the skin from the fat and muscle below. Fat may be trimmed or liposuctioned from around the neck and chin to improve the contour of the face. The surgeon then tightens the underlying muscle and membrane. Volume is usually added to certain areas such as the cheek bone for enhancement. Other complimentary procedures may also be undertaken with your agreement such as work on the tear troughs or eyelid and cheek enhancement surgery to produce the best possible results. Finally, the incisions are closed using dissolvable stitches so you do not need to go through the inconvenience of removing them. What happens after face or face and neck lift plastic surgery? If a general anaesthetic was used you'll need to stay in hospital overnight. If only a local aesthetic and sedation were used then you can go home the same day as long as you have someone to look after you. You will need to wear a bandage covering the treated area for 24 hours and you will be seen 5-7 days after surgery to make sure you are healing well and comfortable. The stiches are usually dissolvable so do not need to be taken out. Temporary bruising under the eyes is common after a face lift and will go down slowly after the first week. To begin with your face will feel stiff and look artificially tightened. This will ease naturally can be helped by applying cold compresses to the affected areas. How soon after my face lift will I be able to go back to work and resume normal activities? You will need to rest completely for the first 48 hours after your face lift and avoid sudden head movements.

Dr Barnouti, Gynecomastia surgery in Sydney

Dr Barnouti, Gynecomastia surgery in Sydney

Gynecomastia surgery involves making a small incision around the lower half of the areola (nipple). The breast tissue under the nipple is then removed through this incision. The next stage of male breast reduction surgery is full chest liposuction to reduce and recontour the chest. Finally the incisions are sutured with the stitches normally located around the lower half of the areola. That way the scar blends in nicely at the margins of the areola and will become virtually undetectable over time. Small man boobs can be done through a little stab incision via liposuction procedure, such as vaser liposuction or microair liposuction. Dr Barnouti will be able to advise you more on that during your male breast reduction consultation. The man boobs surgery procedure takes around 1 hour, depending on the complexity of the case.

Social Media Body Image Disorder - A New Diagnosis

Social Media Body Image Disorder - A New Diagnosis

Body image disorders can have crippling effects on the physical and mental health of a person and their support networks. Body image disorders can have crippling effects on the physical and mental health of a person and their support networks. These disorders are common in younger generations and can lead to a serious impact on their daily life. As global communities come together with the internet and social media, we are seeing their impacts on perceptions of appearance and body image. Younger generations are susceptible to these influences from social media, with mental health issues arising from appearance and body dissatisfaction. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders V (DSM-V) assists clinicians with understanding and defining many mental health disorders, however, we believe that the influence of social media on body image disorders warrants its own diagnosis. We propose a new disorder termed Social Media Body Image Disorder (SMBID). Awareness of this disorder may help clinicians identify patients that have unrealistic expectations from cosmetic procedures.

Why do women choose to have labiaplasty?

Why do women choose to have labiaplasty?

Many women who have labiaplasties do so after derogatory comments about their genitals from past sexual partners, research from Flinders University suggests. At Sydney Plastic Surgery, we understand that decisions regarding labiaplasty and vaginoplasty are profoundly personal and individual. Our goal is to provide you with comprehensive information and compassionate care, helping you make informed decisions about your body. Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at reducing and reshaping the labia minora for comfort and aesthetic preferences. Vaginoplasty is the surgical tightening of the vaginal canal, often sought after childbirth or due to aging, to enhance muscle tone and control. We also offer Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation, a non-surgical option that utilises laser technology to stimulate collagen production, thereby improving vaginal elasticity and moisture.
