Dr. Vikram Iyer

Mr Vikram Iyer is a highly qualified vascular and endovascular surgeon who provides comprehensive care across the full spectrum of vascular conditions. He offers a broad range of treatment options, including traditional open surgery, minimally invasive endovascular procedures, and non-surgical management strategies tailored to each patient’s needs.

He has a particular interest in the medical and surgical management of aortic aneurysms and dissections and has published extensively in this field. His clinical interests also include limb salvage techniques for patients with chronic limb-threatening ischaemia and complex diabetic foot disease.

Mr Iyer completed a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) at the University of Queensland, where his research focused on the epigenetics of abdominal aortic aneurysms. He has presented his work at local, national, and international conferences and remains actively involved in research to stay at the forefront of advances in vascular surgery. He regularly engages with peer-reviewed literature and participates in scientific meetings and professional development activities.

Passionate about education and surgical training, Mr Iyer served as Co-Convenor of the Annual Vascular Surgery Trainee Skills Course in Melbourne in 2023 and currently holds the role of Supervisor of Vascular Surgery Training at Northern Health. He also maintains public clinical appointments at The Alfred and Western Health.

In addition to English, Mr Iyer is fluent in French, Hindi, Tamil, Urdu, and Marathi, enabling him to communicate effectively with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
