Dr Victoria Kim

Dr Victoria Kim is a highly dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist who provides compassionate, patient-centred mental health care. Even before pursuing her career as a Medical Practitioner, she believed in getting to know her patients as individuals before addressing their illnesses. From a young age, she has possessed an inquisitive interest in the science of medicine and the workings of the human brain. Dr Kim is committed to offering treatment in a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment, ensuring that every patient feels heard and respected throughout their therapeutic journey.

In her clinical practice, Dr Kim focuses on a broad range of mental health conditions affecting adults. Her areas of clinical interest include psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, and major depression. She is particularly skilled in providing trauma-informed care to individuals with a background of complex trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Additionally, she has a strong interest in perinatal mental health and the management of personality disorders, tailoring her therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Dr Kim obtained her Doctor of Medicine from Yonsei University in Korea and holds a certificate from the Australian Medical Council. She completed her postgraduate psychiatry training through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, earning her Fellowship (FRANZCP). To further deepen her understanding of the relationship between psychopathology and a patient's life experiences, she completed advanced training in psychotherapies, obtaining a Certificate in Psychotherapies Psychiatry. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
