Dr Vicki Stonehouse

Dr Vicki Stonehouse is a highly dedicated and experienced General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. Born and raised in Townsville, she is deeply committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of her local community. Dr Stonehouse adopts a holistic approach to medicine, ensuring that each patient receives personalised care tailored to their unique health needs. Her broad clinical background spans emergency medicine, rural health, and family medicine, making her a reassuring and professional presence for her patients.

Dr Stonehouse began her academic journey by completing a Bachelor of Biomedical Science before pursuing her medical training. She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from James Cook University in 2006. Following her graduation, she undertook advanced training in emergency medicine and completed her rural generalist training. In 2012, she was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and a Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM). She has also served in senior medical roles, including as a Director of Medical Services, and is an accredited GP Registrar Supervisor, helping to guide and mentor the next generation of medical professionals.

Throughout her career, Dr Stonehouse has developed a diverse range of clinical interests. She has extensive experience in rural and remote medicine, as well as Indigenous health, reflecting her commitment to providing high-quality care to diverse populations. Her practice encompasses all aspects of family medicine, chronic disease management, and mental health support. Furthermore, Dr Stonehouse has a keen interest in skin health, having undertaken additional postgraduate studies in skin cancer and aesthetic medicine to provide comprehensive skin assessments and treatments.
