Dr Veronica Tung

Dr Veronica Tung is a dedicated and highly skilled Geriatrician who specialises in providing comprehensive, compassionate care to older individuals. With a patient-centred approach, she focuses on optimising the health, independence, and overall quality of life for her patients. Dr Tung understands the complex and multifaceted nature of ageing, working closely with patients and their families to navigate the unique challenges associated with geriatric health.

Dr Tung completed her medical education at the University of Newcastle, where she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine. She went on to pursue further postgraduate study, earning a Master of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Sydney. Her specialist training in Geriatric Medicine was completed across several major teaching hospitals in Sydney. In addition to her clinical practice, she is deeply committed to medical education and professional development, serving in leadership roles where she supervises and mentors Basic Physician Trainees. She also holds clinical appointments as a Consultant Geriatrician at prominent public and private healthcare institutions.

In her clinical practice, Dr Tung has developed a diverse range of expertise within Geriatric Medicine. She has a particular interest in managing dementia syndromes, including addressing the behavioural and psychological symptoms associated with cognitive decline. Her areas of focus also extend to other neurodegenerative disorders, frailty, and the careful management of medications through deprescribing. Furthermore, she is highly skilled in orthogeriatric and perioperative medicine, ensuring that older patients receive coordinated, specialised care before and after surgical procedures.
