Dr Vanessa Thorn

Dr Vanessa Thorn is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred healthcare. With a reassuring and professional approach, she supports individuals and families through all stages of life, tailoring her medical care to meet the unique needs of each patient. Dr Thorn believes in fostering a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their health concerns, ensuring they receive evidence-based treatments and preventative care.

Dr Thorn completed her medical education at Griffith University Medical School, graduating in 2012. She gained extensive clinical experience during her internship and residency years at a major metropolitan hospital, followed by comprehensive general practice training across several locations. In 2018, she attained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. To further her expertise in paediatric care, she also completed a postgraduate Diploma in Child Health.

As a versatile General Practitioner, Dr Thorn enjoys the diverse nature of family medicine. She has developed particular clinical interests in women's health, children's health, and antenatal shared care, collaborating with leading maternity services to support expectant mothers. Additionally, she is dedicated to preventative medicine and is actively expanding her expertise in skin cancer medicine to provide comprehensive skin checks and management for her patients.
