Dr Trevor Lotz

Dr Trevor Lotz is a highly dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive mental health care. With a compassionate and patient-centred approach, he focuses on delivering evidence-based psychiatric assessments and therapeutic interventions. Dr Lotz is committed to supporting individuals through their mental health journeys, helping them achieve stability, resilience, and an improved quality of life.

His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of psychiatric conditions, with a particular focus on the assessment and management of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adults. Dr Lotz also possesses extensive expertise in treating mood and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and chronic pain. In addition to his clinical work, he is highly regarded for his work in medico-legal assessments, providing independent psychiatric evaluations, insurance opinions, and permanent impairment assessments.

Dr Lotz completed his medical education at the University of Cape Town, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1978, a Bachelor of Science in Medical Honours in 1983, and his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1988. He went on to complete his specialist training in psychiatry, obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 1999. He is an active member of several professional organisations, including the Australian ADHD Professionals Association, the Medico-legal Society of Queensland, the Doctors' Health Advisory Service, and the Child Protection Practitioners Association of Queensland.
