Dr Tobias Trinks

Dr Tobias Trinks is a highly qualified Specialist Anaesthetist dedicated to delivering exceptional anaesthesia care to patients undergoing a broad range of surgical procedures. With a patient-centred approach, he focuses on ensuring safety, comfort, and reassurance throughout the perioperative journey. Dr Trinks is particularly passionate about working in procedural environments, where he can apply his extensive knowledge of acute medicine to provide hands-on support and optimal patient outcomes.

In addition to general anaesthesia, Dr Trinks has developed a strong clinical interest in ears, nose, and throat (ENT) conditions, as well as hyperbaric medicine. His diverse expertise extends to diving and hyperbaric medicine, where he has contributed to clinical research and patient care. He has also served as a Retrieval Physician, bringing critical care and acute medical support to patients in challenging aeromedical environments.

Dr Trinks completed his State Exam in Medicine and Doctoral Dissertation in 2004 at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany. Committed to advancing his training, he relocated to Australia, completing extensive postgraduate training across various prominent healthcare facilities in both Germany and Australia. In 2014, he was awarded Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA). He further expanded his specialised skill set by obtaining a Diploma in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine from the South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society (SPUMS) in 2016, followed by a Graduate Certificate of Aeromedical Retrieval from James Cook University in 2017.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Trinks is actively involved in medical education and professional development. He has shared his expertise as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and Griffith University, helping to train the next generation of medical professionals. He also holds appointments as a Staff Specialist in Anaesthetics and a Staff Specialist and Visiting Medical Practitioner in Hyperbaric Medicine at major public and private healthcare institutions, ensuring his clinical practice remains at the forefront of modern medicine.
