Dr Timothy Chan

Dr Timothy Chan is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who prioritises the individual needs of his patients. He believes in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, ensuring that health and safety are never compromised. Dr Chan endeavours to listen closely to his patients' concerns, working collaboratively with them to find the most appropriate and effective treatment pathways. In addition to his work in community general practice, he serves as a Medical Officer with the Australian Defence Force, where he provides essential medical care to service personnel and has extensive experience assisting veterans with their healthcare needs.

Dr Chan completed his initial tertiary education at the University of Queensland, graduating with a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 2007, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2011. He completed his residency and went on to work as a Medical Registrar in various subspecialty areas, where he also contributed to training Medical Students and Junior Doctors. In 2016, he achieved fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, qualifying as a Specialist General Practitioner. Committed to continuous professional development, Dr Chan has undertaken extensive postgraduate training in skin cancer, obtaining a Professional Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine, a Professional Certificate in Skin Cancer Surgery, a Professional Certificate in Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery, a Professional Diploma in Skin Cancer Surgery, and ultimately a Master of Medicine in Skin Cancer in 2024 from the University of Queensland.

With his advanced training, Dr Chan has developed a strong clinical interest in skin cancer medicine and surgery. He is highly skilled in performing comprehensive skin checks, utilising advanced dermatoscopy and imaging technology to detect early-stage melanomas and other skin malignancies. His surgical expertise allows him to perform complex skin cancer excisions and biopsies, while also offering non-surgical treatments such as cryotherapy, topical therapies, and cautery and curettage. Beyond skin cancer, Dr Chan remains passionate about all aspects of family medicine, including general adult medicine, chronic disease management such as diabetes care, children's health, and refugee health.
