Dr Thomas Skinner

Dr Thomas Skinner is a highly dedicated Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Physician who provides comprehensive care to patients experiencing a wide range of thoracic and sleep-related conditions. Based in Spring Hill, he is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care that focuses on improving respiratory health and overall quality of life. With a compassionate approach, Dr Skinner works closely with his patients to diagnose and manage complex respiratory issues, ensuring they feel supported throughout their medical journey.

His clinical practice encompasses all aspects of respiratory and sleep medicine, with a particular interest in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and pleural disease. Dr Skinner is also highly skilled in the investigation of unexplained breathlessness and chronic cough, as well as the diagnosis and management of lung cancer and various sleep disorders. Additionally, he has advanced training in interventional bronchoscopy, performing specialised procedures such as radial and convex endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) to achieve precise diagnoses for his patients.

Dr Skinner began his healthcare career by completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland in 2005, subsequently working as a Respiratory Physiotherapist in both Brisbane and London. He then pursued medical studies, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Queensland in 2012. He completed his advanced specialist training in thoracic medicine across several major tertiary hospitals in Queensland and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2020.
