Dr Terence Lim

Dr Terence Lim is a highly qualified Consultant, Rehabilitation Specialist, and Pain Medicine Specialist who has dedicated his career to helping patients manage complex, persistent pain and physical disabilities. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Lim focuses on restoring function and improving the quality of life for individuals experiencing chronic pain. He specialises in designing individualised rehabilitation programmes that empower patients with self-help knowledge and practical skills, moving away from generic group-based treatments to deliver tailored, compassionate care.

In his clinical practice, Dr Lim collaborates closely with an integrated, multidisciplinary pain rehabilitation team. This team includes dedicated Pain Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Psychologists, and Pain Psychiatrists. This collaborative model allows him to address the complex medical, physical, and psychosocial factors that contribute to chronic pain. His areas of clinical interest include the management of complex cases such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and stroke-related pain. Additionally, he has developed specialised post-spine surgery rehabilitation programmes designed to seamlessly integrate with long-term pain management strategies.

Dr Lim completed his medical education at Monash University, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1981. Committed to advancing his expertise, he went on to achieve several prestigious postgraduate qualifications. He became a Fellow of the Australasian College of Rehabilitation Medicine (FACRM) in 1990, followed by a Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FAFRM/RACP) in 1993. To further specialise in pain management, he also obtained a Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FFPMANZCA) in 2003.
