Dr Tamsin Santos

Dr Tamsin Santos is a highly dedicated Specialist Geriatrician who provides comprehensive, holistic care for patients aged 65 and older. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, she focuses on understanding each individual's unique wishes to improve their overall health and well-being. Her clinical practice is centred on promoting healthy ageing and addressing the complex needs of older adults, with a particular interest in reversible frailty.

Throughout her career, Dr Santos has developed extensive expertise in managing a wide range of geriatric conditions. Her areas of clinical interest include cognitive health, dementia, falls prevention, bone health, medication management, and continence. She is also highly skilled in conducting comprehensive geriatric assessments, improving independence at home, and managing movement disorders. Additionally, she has significant experience in hospital delirium prevention and the perioperative management of geriatric cardiac patients, ensuring safe and coordinated care.

Dr Santos completed her medical degree at The University of Melbourne, graduating in 2004. She subsequently undertook advanced training in geriatric medicine, achieving her qualification as a Specialist Geriatrician in 2013. Her academic and professional credentials include a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), a Diploma of Clinical Education (DipClEd), and she is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Alongside her clinical work, she has been actively involved in research, with published works focusing on chronic disease, continence, and frailty in both geriatric and cardiac populations.
