Dr Sylvia Lee

Dr Sylvia Lee is a highly dedicated Medical Oncologist and Palliative Medicine Specialist who is committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate care to patients navigating cancer diagnoses. With a dual specialisation in oncology and palliative care, she offers a unique, holistic approach that addresses both active cancer treatment and the management of symptoms to improve overall quality of life. Dr Lee has a particular clinical interest in the treatment of urological, lung, and gastrointestinal cancers, ensuring that each patient receives an individualised treatment plan tailored to their specific needs.

Dr Lee began her medical journey by earning a Bachelor of Pharmacy, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland, graduating in 2001. She subsequently undertook extensive clinical training, practising across various hospitals in Queensland and south-east New South Wales. She completed her specialist training in Medical Oncology in 2014 and went on to complete further specialist training in Palliative Medicine in 2017. Dr Lee is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM).

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Lee is actively involved in advancing cancer care through clinical research. She has worked extensively on clinical trials throughout her career and continues to contribute to the field as a Sub-Investigator in numerous oncology trials. This involvement allows her to stay at the forefront of emerging therapies and medical advancements. Dr Lee prioritises open communication and collaborative decision-making, working closely with patients and their families to provide supportive, evidence-based care throughout every stage of their treatment journey.
