Dr Swee Tan

Dr Swee Tan is a highly qualified Consultant Neurologist who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions. With extensive clinical experience gained both in Australia and internationally, Dr Tan is dedicated to assessing and managing complex disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. He is known for his meticulous, detailed, and logical approach to clinical assessments, ensuring that he dedicates ample time to each patient to thoroughly investigate their symptoms and formulate precise diagnoses and treatment plans. Dr Tan completed his medical degree with Honours at The University of Melbourne in 1997. He went on to undertake specialist training, qualifying as a Neurologist and obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2004. To further expand his expertise, he completed a prestigious overseas fellowship in London in 2004 and has also gained valuable clinical experience working in international hospitals. Dr Tan is an active member of several professional organisations, including the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists and the Australian and New Zealand Headache Society.

Throughout his career, Dr Tan has developed a broad range of clinical expertise, with particular interests in headache disorders, Parkinson's disease, movement disorders, and cognitive neurology. He is highly skilled in managing conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, dementia, multiple sclerosis, and nerve and muscle disorders. Additionally, Dr Tan performs specialised diagnostic procedures, including neurophysiology studies such as nerve conduction studies and electromyography. He also offers advanced therapeutic interventions, including botulinum toxin treatment for chronic migraines, dystonia, and other neurological conditions, helping patients achieve a better quality of life.
