Dr Suzanne Acton

Dr Suzanne Acton is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a strong passion for health education, she focuses on delivering up-to-date medical information to empower her patients, enabling them to make well-informed decisions regarding their health and well-being. Dr Acton enjoys caring for individuals and families within their community context, offering a reassuring and practical approach to general medicine.

Dr Acton completed her medical degree at Flinders University, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Committed to continuous professional development, she went on to achieve her Diploma of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2000, followed by her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2002. To further her expertise in paediatric care, she obtained a Diploma of Child Health in 2005. Additionally, she has expanded her clinical knowledge internationally by completing a short course in travel medicine at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Throughout her career, Dr Acton has developed a diverse range of clinical interests. She is highly experienced in women's and men's health, family planning, and contraception, including intrauterine device (IUD) insertion. Her extensive background in obstetrics and gynaecology allows her to provide exceptional antenatal shared care and newborn care. Furthermore, Dr Acton is skilled in managing chronic illnesses, performing skin cancer checks, administering immunisations, and providing travel medicine advice. Her holistic approach also encompasses mental health support and musculoskeletal medicine, ensuring that all aspects of her patients' health are thoroughly addressed.
