Dr Susan McSweeney

Dr Susan McSweeney is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a clinical approach grounded in active listening and collaborative decision-making, she strives to empower her patients by providing clear explanations and respecting their autonomy. Dr McSweeney provides holistic care for patients of all ages, supporting them through various life stages and health journeys with a warm and reassuring presence.

Her broad scope of practice encompasses a wide range of general medicine, with particular expertise in women's health, sexual health, and reproductive medicine. Dr McSweeney is highly skilled in family planning, preconception counselling, and pregnancy options counselling, and she is accredited to provide antenatal shared care. Her procedural skills include cervical screening, Implanon insertion and removal, and IUD insertion and removal. Additionally, she has a strong interest in managing complex hormonal transitions, such as menopause, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and endometriosis, as well as providing paediatric care, travel medicine, and minor skin procedures.

Dr McSweeney completed her Bachelor of Advanced Science in Neuroscience with First Class Honours at the University of Sydney, followed by her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Notre Dame Australia. To further her expertise, she obtained a Diploma in Child Health from the University of Sydney and a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, where she also serves as an examiner. Dr McSweeney maintains active professional memberships with the Australian Medical Association, the Australian Menopause Society, and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
