Dr Sumedha Amarasinghe

Dr Sumedha Amarasinghe is a dedicated and highly skilled General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a broad clinical background spanning multiple medical disciplines, she is committed to supporting the health and well-being of individuals and families. Dr Amarasinghe adopts a compassionate and reassuring approach, ensuring that every patient receives personalised attention tailored to their unique healthcare needs.

Dr Amarasinghe completed her primary medical education at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, where she was awarded her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2001. Following her relocation to Australia, she completed rigorous postgraduate training to specialise in primary care. She holds general registration with the Medical Board of Australia and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).

Before transitioning fully into general practice, Dr Amarasinghe gained extensive clinical experience working across tertiary teaching hospitals, rural hospitals, and regional healthcare facilities. This diverse background allowed her to develop expertise in a wide range of medical fields, including general medicine, renal health, rehabilitation, cardiology, paediatrics, surgery, emergency medicine, psychiatry, and obstetrics and gynaecology. This breadth of knowledge enables her to manage complex chronic conditions and acute presentations with confidence and precision.
