Dr Steven Whiting

Dr Steven Whiting is a highly dedicated General Practitioner who provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages. With a broad clinical background, he has delivered medical services across diverse settings, including regional clinics in Queensland and Tasmania, as well as international postings in Vietnam and the Solomon Islands. His extensive career also includes vital work with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, reflecting his commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare to varied communities.

Dr Whiting completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Queensland in 1997. He subsequently obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), demonstrating his advanced training and expertise in family medicine. Driven by a passion for physical health and rehabilitation, he also completed a Master of Sports Medicine through the University of Queensland, equipping him with specialised knowledge in managing physical injuries and promoting active lifestyles.

In addition to general practice, Dr Whiting has a significant focus on sports medicine and musculoskeletal health. He has served as a Medical Officer for prominent professional rugby league and national sports teams, providing pitch-side care and athlete management. His clinical practice encompasses the diagnosis, investigation, and treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, concussion management, and injury prevention. He is highly skilled in administering advanced injection therapies, such as cortisone, platelet-rich plasma, and hyaluronic acid, helping patients explore both surgical and non-surgical pathways to recovery.
