Dr Stephen Ong

Dr Stephen Ong is a highly qualified Consultant Ophthalmologist and Ophthalmic Surgeon who specialises in the diagnosis and management of complex eye conditions. As a dedicated Medical Retina Sub-specialist, Dr Ong provides expert care for patients experiencing macular and retinal diseases. His clinical interests are particularly centred on diabetic eye disease, age-related macular degeneration, uveitis, and retinal vascular occlusions. He is committed to delivering personalised, reassuring, and evidence-based treatment pathways to help patients preserve and improve their vision.

Dr Ong completed his medical degree at a leading Australian university, graduating with First Class Honours. He subsequently undertook his specialist ophthalmic training at a major dedicated eye hospital, followed by a prestigious sub-speciality fellowship in Medical Retina. Dr Ong is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. He also holds active membership with the Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists, reflecting his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence in his field.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Ong is deeply involved in advancing the field of ophthalmology through research and education. He serves as a Treating Investigator in numerous international clinical trials, contributing to the development of innovative therapeutic agents for retinal diseases.
