Dr Stephen Lyons

Dr. Stephen Lyons is a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with clinical interests in general obstetrics, general gynaecology, minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, endometriosis, and hysterectomy. He practices at Northern Beaches Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital, and Mater Hospital, where he also serves as a Visiting Medical Officer in advanced gynaecological endoscopic surgery.

Dr. Lyons completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biochemistry at the University of Melbourne in 1983, followed by a PhD at the University of Sydney in 1989. He later earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Sydney in 1997. His specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology was undertaken at Royal North Shore Hospital, with an additional placement at Odstock Hospital in Salisbury, United Kingdom.

In 2005, Dr. Lyons became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). He then completed two years of advanced training in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney, further developing his expertise in laparoscopic procedures.

Balancing both obstetric and gynaecological practice, Dr. Lyons brings extensive training and over two decades of experience to patient care.
