Dr Stephen Duma

Dr Stephen Duma is a Consultant Neurologist with a distinguished focus on movement disorders and neurodegenerative conditions. A graduate of the University of Sydney, he completed his advanced neurology training across major tertiary centres in New South Wales before attaining his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

He currently serves as a Staff Specialist and Head of the Movement Disorders Service at St George Hospital, where he leads the delivery and development of specialist services for patients with complex movement disorders, while contributing to the advancement of neurological care within the public health system.

His clinical expertise is centred on the management of Parkinson’s disease and other complex movement disorders such as tremor and dystonia. He has undertaken specialised training in device-assisted therapies for advanced Parkinson’s disease and is experienced in the use of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), Duodopa intestinal gel, and apomorphine to help optimise symptom control and improve quality of life for suitable patients.

Dr Duma is also highly regarded for his technical skill in using botulinum toxin for various neurological indications. He provides injectable treatments for a wide range of conditions, including chronic migraine, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, dystonia, tremor, spasticity, hyperhidrosis, bruxism, and sialorrhoea.

He maintains an active presence in both public and private practice, ensuring patients have access to the latest therapeutic advancements in neurology.
