Following this, he worked as a Research Fellow at a leading postgraduate medical school in the United Kingdom, where he conducted clinical and experimental research into the pathophysiological aspects of acute lung injury, culminating in the award of his Doctor of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom.
