Dr Simon Bowler

Dr Simon Bowler is a highly regarded Consultant Physician specialising in Respiratory Medicine and Sleep Medicine. With a patient-centred approach to care, he is dedicated to diagnosing and managing a comprehensive range of respiratory and sleep disorders. Dr Bowler has a particular clinical interest in complex airway diseases, including asthma, cystic fibrosis, and bronchiectasis, as well as both respiratory and non-respiratory sleep conditions. He is committed to delivering evidence-based, compassionate care that helps patients achieve optimal lung health and improved sleep quality.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Bowler is deeply involved in medical research and education. He serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Medicine at the University of Queensland, where he contributes to training the next generation of medical professionals. As a co-founder of a prominent respiratory research group, he has published extensively on respiratory health, with a strong focus on asthma education and airway disease management. His dedication to advancing the field ensures that his patients benefit from the latest clinical insights and therapeutic developments.

Dr Bowler completed his medical training at the University of Queensland, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1977. He undertook his specialist postgraduate training in Brisbane and further refined his expertise at a world-renowned specialist heart and lung centre in London. Dr Bowler is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand. He has also contributed his expertise to the wider medical community through leadership roles, including serving on the executive committee of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and as the past Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee of Asthma Australia.
