Dr Sherol Hanna

Dr Sherol Hanna is a highly dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist who provides compassionate, patient-centred care to individuals navigating complex mental health challenges. Based in Alphington, Victoria, she focuses on delivering holistic and evidence-based psychiatric assessments and management plans tailored to each patient's unique circumstances. Dr Hanna is committed to working collaboratively with General Practitioners and other Allied Health Professionals to ensure comprehensive, supportive, and integrated treatment pathways.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Hanna specialises in the assessment and management of diverse psychiatric conditions. Her areas of expertise include mood disorders such as depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and schizophrenia. She also has significant experience in geriatric psychiatry, eating disorders, and addiction medicine, including alcohol and substance abuse. Additionally, Dr Hanna provides specialised assessments for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults, chronic pain syndromes, and psychological injuries related to workplace incidents or motor vehicle accidents.

Dr Hanna completed her medical education at Monash University, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery with Honours in 2005. She subsequently obtained a Master of Psychiatry from the University of Melbourne in 2012. Her comprehensive psychiatric training was undertaken in Victoria, preparing her for senior clinical roles across various public and private mental health settings. Dr Hanna is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), reflecting her adherence to the highest standards of psychiatric practice.
