Dr Shamnika Rupasinghe

Dr Shamnika Rupasinghe is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care to individuals and families. With a focus on delivering a full spectrum of medical services, he supports patients across all stages of life, from paediatrics to older persons. Dr Rupasinghe is committed to fostering long-term relationships with his patients, ensuring their physical and mental well-being is supported through personalised healthcare plans.

Dr Rupasinghe obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Otago in 1998. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Science. Following his graduation, he gained valuable clinical experience working in both urban and regional hospital settings as a Senior House Officer before transitioning into General Practice. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and has also contributed to the medical community by teaching medical students and General Practice Trainees.

Throughout his career, Dr Rupasinghe has developed a diverse range of clinical interests. He is highly skilled in chronic disease management, with a particular focus on conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. His broad expertise also encompasses men's and women's health, musculoskeletal medicine, travel medicine, and mental health. Additionally, he is experienced in performing skin checks, identifying skin lesions, and performing minor surgical procedures to remove appropriate lesions when necessary.
