Dr. Samuel Purcell

Dr. Samuel Purcell is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a focus on providing compassionate care and expertise to his patients. Born and raised on the Gold Coast, Dr. Purcell graduated from the University of Queensland in 2011 with dual degrees in Medicine and Science, majoring in Anatomy.

Dr. Purcell's career has taken him through various prestigious medical institutions across Australia, including the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, The Mater Hospital in Brisbane, Gold Coast University Hospital, and prominent women’s hospitals in Sydney and Melbourne. During his tenure at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, he underwent specialised training in advanced laparoscopy, endometriosis surgery, hysteroscopic surgery, and fertility treatments.

His dedication to medical education is evident through his supervision of medical students and facilitation of Obstetric & Gynaecological teaching and exams. Dr. Purcell has contributed to research published in the ANZJOG (Australia and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology), focusing on topics such as Endometriosis and Preeclampsia.

Dr. Purcell's skills in obstetrics have been refined at The Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne, where he managed a high volume of deliveries annually. He is proficient in performing complex Caesarean sections and Obstetric ultrasound, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and child.

In his practice, Dr. Purcell is known for his warm and friendly demeanour, providing comprehensive care that addresses conditions such as pelvic pain, PCOS, fertility issues, abnormal pap smears, and high-risk obstetrics.
