Dr Samuel Bolitho

Dr Samuel Bolitho is a highly qualified Consultant Neurologist who provides comprehensive neurological care to patients in regional New South Wales. He brings a unique perspective to his medical practice, combining clinical expertise with a strong background in engineering. This interdisciplinary foundation allows him to approach complex neurological conditions with a deep understanding of both biological systems and advanced medical technologies.

Dr Bolitho began his academic journey at the University of New South Wales, where he completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, graduating with First Class Honours. Driven by a desire to apply these technical skills to patient care, he went on to study medicine at the University of Sydney, qualifying with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2005. He subsequently completed his specialist training to become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Furthering his academic contributions, Dr Bolitho was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Sydney, where his doctoral research focused on the application of novel devices and technology in sleep disorders and Parkinson's disease.

As a Specialist Neurologist, Dr Bolitho has undertaken advanced sub-specialised training in movement disorders. He is dedicated to helping patients manage chronic and complex conditions, such as Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and various tremor syndromes. Dr Bolitho is highly skilled in utilising cutting-edge therapeutic interventions, including Deep Brain Stimulation and MRI-guided focussed ultrasound. He also offers specialised device-assisted therapies, such as Duodopa and Apomorphine, alongside botulinum toxin injections, to deliver personalised and effective treatment plans that improve his patients' quality of life.
