Dr. Sally Wooding is a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults through a wide range of psychological challenges. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours and a Doctoral Degree in Attachment and Intergenerational Trauma from the University of Queensland.
Dr. Wooding has a special interest in working with individuals experiencing trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress, burnout, and adult Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Her practice is grounded in an attachment-based approach, providing warm, collaborative, and compassionate care where clients feel genuinely heard and understood.
She recognises that the issues affecting an individual’s wellbeing may arise from past experiences, present-day challenges, or concerns about the future. Whether her clients are facing difficulties in their personal or professional lives, living with a diagnosed mental health condition, or struggling with both, Dr. Wooding aims to help them develop effective coping strategies and greater self-awareness. Her therapeutic work focuses on empowering clients to build resilience, achieve fulfilment, and enhance their overall wellbeing.
Dr. Wooding adopts a holistic approach to psychological care, considering the individual within their wider personal, social, and cultural context. Her interventions are tailored to each client’s needs and draw on a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
She also has a particular interest in supporting emergency service personnel such as police, firefighters, paramedics, and other frontline responders, recognising the unique psychological demands faced by those working in high-pressure and critical care environments.
