Dr Saji Damodaran

Dr Saji Damodaran is a highly qualified Consultant Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive mental health care to his patients. With a compassionate and patient-centred approach, he focuses on delivering evidence-based treatments tailored to individual needs. Dr Damodaran is dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing a wide range of psychological and psychiatric conditions, helping them navigate their mental health journeys with dignity and respect. His clinical practice encompasses both general adult psychiatry and specialised areas, ensuring that patients receive holistic and reassuring care.

Throughout his career, Dr Damodaran has developed significant expertise in managing complex mental health conditions. His areas of clinical interest include mood disorders, anxiety and panic disorders, bipolar disorder, and treatment-resistant depression. He is also highly skilled in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychotic disorders, chronic pain, and post-partum psychiatric conditions. In addition to traditional therapeutic interventions, Dr Damodaran utilises advanced treatment modalities such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and offers telepsychiatry services to enhance accessibility for his patients. He also acts as an Independent Medical Examiner, providing civil medicolegal assessments and insurance reports.

Dr Damodaran completed his primary medical education, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from T.D. Medical College, University of Kerala, India. He went on to pursue postgraduate training in psychological medicine, earning both a Diploma and a Doctor of Medicine in Psychological Medicine from the Central Institute of Psychiatry at Ranchi University, India. Additionally, he holds a Diplomat of National Board from the National Board of Examinations under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in India, and a Master of Health Service Management from Monash University. Dr Damodaran is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and an Accredited Member of its Faculty of Adult Psychiatry. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA) and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM).
