Dr Rodney Martin

Dr Rodney Martin is a highly dedicated and reassuring General Practitioner and Anaesthetist who specialises in providing comprehensive medical care to regional and remote communities. With a strong commitment to rural medicine, he delivers essential healthcare services, ensuring patients receive high-quality care close to home. His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of medical fields, with a particular focus on administering anaesthesia, managing obstetric care, and responding to emergency medical situations.

Dr Martin completed his medical internship in Brisbane and St. George, before continuing his professional development as a Remote Vocational Training Scheme Registrar in Theodore. He subsequently undertook specialised training in Anaesthetics and Obstetrics to further expand his clinical capabilities. Dr Martin is a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine, an organisation where he has served in various leadership roles, culminating in his election as the College President in 2024.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Martin is deeply committed to medical education and the advancement of rural healthcare systems. He serves as a Senior Lecturer in Rural Medicine and Critical Care, sharing his extensive knowledge and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals. He also works as a Visiting Medical Officer, providing vital services in emergency medicine, obstetrics, and anaesthetics at regional healthcare facilities.
