Dr Robert Boyd

Dr Robert Boyd is a dedicated Adult Psychiatrist who provides compassionate, patient-centred care in Australia. He adopts a holistic approach to mental health, believing that optimal well-being is far more than simply the absence of illness. Dr Boyd works collaboratively with his patients to ensure that both mind and body are supported, integrating physical health screenings, lifestyle adjustments, and psychological interventions to help individuals thrive.

In his clinical practice, Dr Boyd focuses on a wide range of mental health conditions, with a particular interest in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and schizophrenia. He is highly skilled in managing complex conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Bipolar Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). To support his patients, he integrates evidence-based therapeutic modalities into his practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness, alongside tailored medical treatments where appropriate.

Dr Boyd completed his medical education at St. Bartholomew's and The Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry, graduating in 2004. After relocating to Australia, he gained extensive clinical experience across emergency medicine, intensive care, anaesthetics, General Practice, and Aboriginal health. He then completed his specialist training in psychiatry on the Gold Coast and in Northern New South Wales. Dr Boyd is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and remains actively involved in medical education as an accredited supervisor for future psychiatry trainees.
