Dr Rajendra Prasad

Dr Rajendra Prasad is a dedicated and highly respected General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. Dr Prasad is committed to fostering long-term relationships with his patients, ensuring they feel supported and informed throughout their health journeys.

Dr Prasad completed his academic foundation at the University of Tasmania, where he earned a Bachelor of Science with Honours in 1970, followed by his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1976. To further his commitment to excellence in primary care, he achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). His professional dedication was highlighted when his solo general practice in Hobart was awarded the prestigious Solo Practice of the Year in 2009 by Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL).

Throughout his career, Dr Prasad has developed a broad range of clinical interests, with a particular focus on chronic disease management, preventative care, and seniors' health. He is highly skilled in formulating GP management plans for conditions such as diabetes and asthma, helping patients maintain their independence and quality of life. Outside of his medical practice, Dr Prasad is an active member of his community, serving as a Hindu priest, and enjoys gardening, walking, cycling, and spending cherished time with his six grandchildren.
