Dr Peter Youssef

Dr Peter Youssef is a highly respected Rheumatologist who provides expert care for patients experiencing a wide range of musculoskeletal and autoimmune conditions. Based in Wollongong, he is dedicated to delivering comprehensive, patient-centred care to help individuals manage chronic conditions and improve their overall quality of life. His clinical approach focuses on the non-surgical evaluation and management of disorders affecting the joints, muscles, and immune system.

Dr Youssef completed his medical degree with first-class honours at the University of Sydney in 1986. Following his graduation, he undertook postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology in Sydney, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1993. He furthered his academic and clinical expertise by completing his doctorate at the Flinders University of South Australia in 1997, followed by post-doctoral studies in Dublin and a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of New South Wales.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Youssef is deeply involved in medical education and research. He serves as a Clinical Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Sydney, where he contributes to training the next generation of Medical Practitioners. His commitment to advancing the field of rheumatology is reflected in his leadership roles, which include serving as the Rheumatology Subeditor for the Internal Medicine Journal, Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of Arthritis Australia, and Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Australian Scleroderma Interest Group.
