Dr Peter Schuller

Dr Peter Schuller is a highly qualified and dedicated Specialist Anaesthetist who provides expert care to patients undergoing medical and surgical procedures. With a strong commitment to patient safety and comfort, he focuses on delivering tailored anaesthetic care that minimises anxiety and ensures a smooth perioperative experience. His clinical approach is characterised by a reassuring manner and a deep understanding of both the physiological and psychological needs of his patients.

Before embarking on his medical career, Dr Schuller pursued studies in computer science and worked as a Software Developer. He subsequently completed his medical training, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He went on to achieve fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, obtaining his FANZCA qualification. Demonstrating his commitment to the advancement of his profession, Dr Schuller serves as an Examiner for the ANZCA primary examination and is an active member of the Primary Examination Sub-committee.

Dr Schuller has a keen interest in clinical research and the technological aspects of anaesthesia. His work has focused significantly on depth-of-anaesthesia monitoring, particularly the Bispectral Index (BIS) and the interpretation of electroencephalography (EEG) signals during general anaesthesia. He has also conducted notable research into the effects of muscle relaxants and neuromuscular blockade, as well as aeromedical retrieval and sedation techniques. Through his academic contributions and clinical practice, Dr Schuller remains at the forefront of developments in patient monitoring and safety within the field of Anaesthetics.
