Dr Peter McInerney

Dr Peter McInerney is a highly dedicated General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a broad clinical focus, he is committed to supporting the health and well-being of individuals and families within the community. His approach to medicine is characterised by a reassuring and professional manner, ensuring that patients feel supported throughout their healthcare journey.

Throughout his career, Dr McInerney has developed a diverse range of clinical interests that extend beyond standard general practice. He has extensive experience in hospital-based care, including emergency medicine, anaesthetics, and endoscopy services such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy. Additionally, he is highly skilled in family planning, including vasectomy procedures, and has a strong focus on GP Obstetrics, providing essential care to expectant mothers.

Dr McInerney graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Tasmania. He holds several postgraduate qualifications, including a Diploma from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRANZCOG). He is a Fellow of both the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM). Demonstrating his commitment to rural medicine, he has also served as the Chair of the Rural Division of General Practice and as the President of the Rural Doctors Association of New South Wales.
