Dr Peter Kim

Dr Peter Kim is a highly qualified and dedicated Consultant Ophthalmologist who specialises in cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery. Committed to delivering the highest standard of eye care, Dr Kim utilises the latest medical technologies and advanced surgical techniques to achieve optimal visual outcomes for his patients. He is known for his reassuring, patient-centred approach, taking the time to explain complex clinical conditions in clear, accessible language to ensure his patients feel fully informed and comfortable throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Kim graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Science (Medicine), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours. He completed his specialist ophthalmology training at a major eye hospital in Sydney, followed by extensive subspecialty fellowship training. This included advanced training in corneal and cataract surgery locally, a fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus in Vancouver, Canada, and a further fellowship in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery in Toronto, Canada. Dr Kim is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Kim has a strong commitment to medical education and research. He has served as a Staff Specialist and Consultant Surgeon, actively teaching and mentoring the next generation of eye surgeons, including Registrars and Fellows, in the intricacies of cataract and corneal surgery. An accomplished academic, he has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed international medical journals and authored several book chapters in his areas of expertise. Dr Kim also regularly presents his research at both national and international scientific conferences.
