Dr Paul Hamor

Dr Paul Hamor is a highly regarded Respiratory and Sleep Physician who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of lung and sleep-related conditions. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, he excels in managing complex, undifferentiated respiratory and sleep illnesses, helping individuals find answers to challenging symptoms such as chronic cough, shortness of breath, and excessive daytime sleepiness. His clinical expertise spans allergic airway diseases, asthma, autoimmune-associated lung diseases, neuromuscular respiratory failure, and sleep apnoea.

Dr Hamor completed his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Sydney in 1999, followed by his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland in 2005. He undertook extensive specialist training at major tertiary hospitals before qualifying as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine in 2013. Committed to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice, he is an active member of several prestigious professional organisations, including the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, the Australian Sleep Association, the European Respiratory Society, and the American Thoracic Society.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Hamor is deeply committed to medical education and the mentorship of future healthcare professionals. He has held significant leadership roles in postgraduate medical training, serving as a Director of Prevocational Education and Training and a Network Director of Physician Training. As a Conjoint Lecturer, he contributes to undergraduate medical education and has a particular interest in developing evidence-based clinical programmes, improving presentation skills, and advocating for junior doctor well-being and resilience.
