Dr Paul Alexander AO is a highly distinguished General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a career spanning clinical practice, military medicine, and executive health leadership, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a reassuring, holistic approach to his patients. Dr Alexander is dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of individuals and families, offering expert guidance across all stages of life. In addition to his work in community medicine, Dr Alexander has a remarkable history of public service and leadership. He served as the Surgeon General of the Australian Defence Force and was the inaugural Commander of the Joint Health Command, achieving the rank of Major General. His outstanding contributions to military medicine and healthcare administration were formally recognised when he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO). Dr Alexander has also contributed his expertise to the broader healthcare system, serving as the Chair of a major regional hospital and health board in Queensland and working as a Medico-Legal Consultant to support and educate fellow medical professionals.

Dr Alexander completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Melbourne, qualifying in 1978. Committed to continuous professional development, he has pursued extensive postgraduate education, obtaining specialised qualifications in Sports Medicine and Tropical Medicine. He also holds a Masters in Legal Medicine and is a Fellow of the Australian College of Legal Medicine.
