Dr Patricia Smart is a dedicated and highly compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a broad clinical focus, she supports individuals and families through all stages of life, offering a reassuring and professional approach to healthcare. Dr Smart believes in fostering strong, collaborative relationships with her patients, ensuring they feel heard and supported in managing their physical and mental well-being.

Throughout her career, Dr Smart has developed a diverse range of clinical interests, with a particular focus on women's health. She provides expert guidance on contraceptive options, menopause management, antenatal care, and family planning, alongside performing specialised procedures such as intrauterine device (IUD) and contraceptive implant insertions and removals. In addition to women's health, she is highly experienced in chronic disease management, mental health care planning, and weight management. Dr Smart also actively contributes to the wider medical community, having worked extensively as a Medical Educator involved in training the next generation of General Practitioners. Her interest in clinical research has also led her to participate in trials focused on rheumatology, gastroenterology, and obesity management.

Dr Smart obtained her medical degree from the University of Queensland, qualifying in 1995. Following her graduation, she gained valuable clinical experience across various medical departments before undertaking her specialist training in General Practice. Her extensive training and ongoing commitment to professional development ensure that she delivers evidence-based, high-quality care to all her patients.
