Dr Ojas Mehta

Dr Ojas Mehta is a highly trained Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist who specialises in cardiac rhythm management. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care tailored to each patient's unique circumstances. Dr Mehta views the doctor-patient relationship as a collaborative partnership, aiming to empower individuals and guide them towards achieving their optimal health. His clinical approach combines advanced technical expertise with a reassuring and patient-centred focus.

With extensive training in Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology, Dr Mehta offers a broad range of advanced treatments for cardiac rhythm disorders. He routinely performs complex procedures, including the implantation of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs), conduction system pacing, and cardiac resynchronisation therapy. Additionally, he is skilled in implanting leadless and subcutaneous devices, conventional loop recorders, pacemakers, and defibrillators. For patients experiencing complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, Dr Mehta performs Electrophysiology studies and catheter ablations utilising radiofrequency, cryoablation, and pulsed-field technologies, as well as innovative techniques such as venous alcohol ablation.

Dr Mehta completed his undergraduate medical education at the University of Melbourne, earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery alongside a Bachelor of Medical Science. He undertook his basic physician training and specialist training in Cardiology at major tertiary hospitals in Melbourne. To further his expertise, he completed a local fellowship in Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology, followed by an advanced international fellowship in complex cardiac device implantation and Electrophysiology in Canada. Dr Mehta also holds a Master of Science in Computational Data Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, reflecting his interest in the intersection of data and clinical decision-making. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.
