Dr Smit completed his medical degree, a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), in Pretoria, South Africa, qualifying in 1988. Following his initial medical training, he completed a Diploma in Aviation Medicine during his service in the South African Air Force. After relocating to Australia, he attained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2010. Committed to expanding his clinical expertise, Dr Smit also completed the Australasian Certification in Anti-Ageing Medicine, earning a Diploma in Anti-Ageing Medicine, alongside advanced training in cosmetic procedures.
