Nicholas Stubbs

Dr Nicholas Stubbs is a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist based in Sandy Bay, Australia. He focuses on establishing a strong connection with his patients, believing that true healing occurs within a safe, respectful, and trusting environment. Taking a holistic and client-focused approach, Dr Stubbs assists individuals in understanding themselves better as they navigate the complex and often disorienting journey of mental illness. Rather than viewing patients solely through a clinical lens, he treats each person as a complex individual with unique goals, aspirations, and life experiences.

In his clinical practice, Dr Stubbs provides comprehensive psychiatric assessments, evidence-based treatments, and medication reviews. He is highly skilled in delivering individual, couple, and group therapy, often incorporating his passions for existential philosophy and psychotherapy into his practice. Dr Stubbs works collaboratively with General Practitioners, Psychologists, and Psychotherapists to ensure co-ordinated and supportive care. His clinical interests span a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and complex psychotic disorders.

Dr Stubbs completed his Bachelor of Medical Studies in 2010 and his Bachelor of Science (Medicine) Honours in Pathology in 2011, both at the University of New South Wales. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from the same institution in 2013. Furthering his academic and therapeutic interests, he obtained a Graduate Diploma in Continental Philosophy in 2017 and a Master in Continental Philosophy in 2018 from the University of Western Sydney. Dr Stubbs is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), reflecting his high standard of training and commitment to the field of mental health.
