Dr Nicholas Silberstein

Dr Nicholas Silberstein is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. Dr Silberstein is particularly recognised for his supportive approach to patient autonomy, ensuring that those under his care are fully informed and empowered to make decisions regarding their own well-being.

Throughout his career, Dr Silberstein has developed significant expertise in several key areas of medicine. He has a strong clinical interest in sexual and reproductive health, as well as transgender and gender-diverse healthcare, including gender-affirming hormone therapy. Additionally, he is deeply involved in public health, contributing his expertise to national immunisation and vaccination strategies. His clinical practice is characterised by a safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental environment, making him a trusted partner for patients from diverse backgrounds.

Dr Silberstein completed his medical studies in Western Australia, qualifying in 1980 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Committed to continuous professional development, he went on to obtain a Master of Family Medicine, a Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. Furthermore, he is an active member of the Australian Professional Association for Trans Health and has served on the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation.
