Dr Neha Tiwari

Dr Neha Tiwari is a well experienced Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist. She completed her physician training at Concord Hospital and core gastroenterology training at Nepean Hospital. She then undertook a fellowship in hepatology at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. After earning her FRACP in 2021, she pursued an overseas fellowship at the prestigious Toronto General Hospital in Canada, specialising in advanced hepatology (portal hypertension) under the mentorship of Dr Florence Wong.

Dr Tiwari adeptly manages a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders, including reflux, dysphagia, gastrointestinal bleeding, positive FOBT and iron deficiency anaemia, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and bowel cancer surveillance.

She has a particular expertise in liver diseases, encompassing alcohol and metabolic-associated fatty liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, viral hepatitis (hepatitis B and C), complications of liver cirrhosis, and the prevention and treatment of liver cancer.

An avid researcher, Dr Tiwari has extensively published in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at national and international conferences.

Dr Tiwari performs procedures at Campbelltown Private Hospital, Macquarie University Hospital, and on the South Coast at Wollongong Day Surgery and Wollongong Hospital. She serves as a Staff Specialist Gastroenterologist at Wollongong Hospital, where she also leads the hepatology service. Additionally, she is accredited for gastroscopy and colonoscopy by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE) and boasts an above-average polyp detection rate.
