Dr Nathan Kesteven

Dr Nathan Kesteven is a dedicated and highly skilled General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care to individuals and families within the community. With a strong commitment to rural medicine, he delivers holistic healthcare that addresses the diverse needs of patients of all ages. Dr Kesteven believes in an open-minded approach to wellness, recognising that conventional medical treatments and evidence-based complementary therapies can work together to support a patient's overall physical and mental well-being.

Throughout his career, Dr Kesteven has developed a particular interest in mental health, chronic pain management, and anxiety states. He is a strong advocate for recovery-based health services and person-centred care, particularly in the delivery of mental health support within primary care settings. His clinical focus also extends to adolescent mental health, preventative medicine, and the promotion of healthy lifestyle behaviours. Additionally, his training in emergency care and obstetrics allows him to manage acute medical situations and support families through various stages of life.

Dr Kesteven obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) and has pursued extensive postgraduate training to enhance his clinical capabilities. He holds a Diploma of Obstetrics from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (Dip Obs RANZCOG), a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and has completed Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training with the Royal College of Surgeons. Committed to advancing the medical profession, he has actively contributed to regional healthcare networks, serving in leadership roles such as Chair and Vice-Chair of a prominent regional medical network to foster better communication and education among healthcare providers.
